Dr appointment for Dad's finger today at 2:30 pm today. Dentist at 8 am tomorrow. I go tour one assisted living facility at 2:30 pm tomorrow and another at 2:30 the next day. Its not going to be "happy days".
A difficult time. With the assisted living - I think you need to accept that he will be better off there. Not only will get the physical support from trained and very experienced professionals, he is also likely to be more stimulated by interactions with other residents and participation in organised activities. None of these places is perfect or ideal. You will want your father cared for by someone who is willing to do all the little, thoughtful things that you might do - and that doesn't necessarily happen. But you'll visit regularly no doubt and that will make a big difference in the equation. Good luck Mark.
Ditto what Megan said - and you'll be able to visit him and have quality time that you will enjoy, rather than thinking about all the problems that abound.

Hang in there. And open a really good bottle of wine when you're done.
Mary here. You are doing good. Thoughts will be with you, we know it isn't easy.
Hugs!
You ARE doing good. Hugs from here too.

May the force be with you. T.
Here I am a day late (as usual). Assisted living will help, honest! You are a wonderful person, you have done a great job and you ROCK!
