I could probably figure it out if I really tried, but ... it would take me an age and I wouldn't appreciate the ugliness of it anyway. I learned to play as a child but I was never captured by it. I had several friends during my teenage years who were very good (played in the state championships, etc etc), although to the best of my knowledge they didn't pursue it into adulthood in any serious way. My understanding is that good chess players have a way of thinking that differentiates them from the rest of us. Glad that you enjoy it and that you beat the 'puter!
