Today's my 64th birthday (sounds of the Beatles "When I'm 64" running around my head), Tomorrow, I get a tooth pulled out, and I mean yanked right out of my jaw like it was done 100 years ago. Well, OK, painkillers are better today.
Um, "woo hoo and yippee"...
And I'm not even allowed to have any wine afterwards even with dinner for 2 days because the painkiller pill is serious stuff. The dentist says I should have someone "with me", but I don't so I will just stay in bed with the cats, have some soup ready for reheating, and wait the healing out.
He says I can't even drink through a straw ("negative pressure"). I bet I can. But I may not test it.
I hate having been too stupid to have avoided easier solutions, but sometimes even intelligent people do stupid things. Seriously, 8 years ago, I could have just had the damn crown reglued back on. All I can say is that ignoring it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Don't ignore dental stuff!!!
Happy Birthday to me,
Happy Birthday to me.
Happy Birthday you stupid idiot,
Happy Birthday to me.

A very happy birthday.
Yeah I agree with you don't ignore dental stuff. I did too for 7 years and ended up with 12 cavities.
Happy birthday, for what it's worth. You'll have to do something extra-special for yourself after the dental procedure is over and your mouth has healed, because every birthday should be celebrated, IMO. (I book my bday off from work; this year I booked two days, since it fell on a Thursday. I have a friend who books the entire week off and shops, gets her hair done, facial, etc., etc. Not my thing, but she certainly knows how to treat herself.)
Fingers crossed for tomorrow and healing purrs from Nicki and Derry.
Happy birthday Mark.
Be kind to yourself: yep, we all make poor decisions from time to time. Nothing to be achieved by beating yourself up. Just take really really good care of yourself over the next few days. I'll be thinking of you. Hope it goes well.

Happy Birthday to youuuu. What an odd coincidence - mine is today also, only I'm 74. Sorry you have to celebrate with tooth pulling. I did that also about 3 weeks ago - had 34 of them pulled. Happy "gumming it." Getting old is so much fun.
Happy Purrthday!
Happy birthday!! Sorry you have to celebrate with a tooth extraction and no wine.
I hope the tooth pulling goes ok. That is no fun at all. One bit of unsolicited advice: do avoid using a straw until the dentist okays it. I jumped the gun on that once and ended up with dry socket. It was not worth it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Happy (Belated) Birthday, Mark! I hope the tooth ordeal is going OK...I cringed just thinking about it. Two words: ICE CREAM!
Awww, a truly late, but true wish for your happy birthday. And hey, don't second-guess yourself. I know I am bad about doing that too. But as long as you did what you thought was the best thing at the time, then don't be mean to yourself by second-guessing it later.
Hugs to you, new Friend.
