I had an annoying incident today. I decided to download a new version of MacKeeper, some protection software.
Usually, you just press a few buttons to download a program. Instead, I got a live Apple Helper. Who took over my screen... I won't tolerate that from anyone. THEY TOOK OVER MY COMPUTER!!! For all I know, they still have control of it. I'm uninstalling the program (but who knows if that actually works).
When that is done, I will use a few anti-virus, anti-intrusion programs NOT from Apple.
But this really bothered me. I might have to consider Windows again.

I agree wholeheartedly, Mark. I have on occasions been asked by a technical help desk person if I would give them access so they could take over my computer, and I'm happy to allow it when I've asked for help and when the restrictions on the access provided are made plain to me. That someone from Apple could access your machine without your permission is unacceptable. Have you provided them with feedback about this? I bet if you did a google search you'd find that there's general uproar on the net about it.

WOW, that would be scary. My son-in-law takes over my computer remotely but only when we are having a problem that he needs to fix. Being he's in the family, we trust him. But I wouldn't like anyone else doing that.
